From the wide range of fine local food and drink in the Farm Shop, to delicious, home-cooked meals served in our Restaurant or the creamy delights of Orange Elephant ice cream made using milk from the South Devon cow, here at Taverners we have one simple aim: to deliver Great Farm Food. Set amidst the beautifully refurbished barns, the stunning courtyard encloses the Farm Shop, Restaurant and famous Orange Elephant Ice Cream Parlour. Nestled in the lush Devon countryside, the farm can be explored in the Summer Meadow, a haven full of animals to meet and feed, gardens to explore and play for all the family. A working farm today, the Taverner family have been farming here for five generations with dairy cows, sheep, beef cattle and our flock of free range hens. Rob and Helen Taverner began the Devonshire Milking Cow Project to bring back the South Devon cow, the so-called Orange Elephant, as a great milking breed. It's much creamier milk makes superb ice cream! Taverners is a unique Great Farm Food destination - a great place to visit for all the family. |
