Rain and shine plus Award season!

25 May
2017

Things have started to warm up after a few wet weeks here. The sun is shining and it's been 20 degrees at least! The grass in the meadow and on the farm has been growing like crazy after the rain, meaning there is plenty of grass for the cows to eat.

Exciting news that the Maize maze has been planted! It went in at the start of May and is growing fast, we will keep you up dated on its progress

The Summer meadow has also welcomed some new additions. We have had a baby calf born who is just under two weeks old, she is being bottle fed milk twice a day and is in the pen with the two older calves. Two of our South Devons from the milking herd are now out there as well, enjoying the sun and grass.

I was also honoured to be asked to judge at the Devon county show. It was great fun and wonderful to try all the different ice creams.

We have also won some awards ourselves. Coffee and Hot Cross Bun won Gold at Taste of the West 2017, with Belgium Chocolate picking up a silver. The coffee ice cream is made with coffee from the Devon Coffee Company, who we also use for our coffees in the parlour. As you all know, it has not been the easiest time recently for myself personally health wise, so to win these awards is fantastic.
