Taverner's Meat & Game has its own dedicated butcher serving up the best in organic beef, lamb and chicken, along with Taverner's own handmade sausages and burgers.

Our butchers are happy to give you professional advice about the best cuts and ideas for cooking them.

Special orders can be taken for all occasions, from Sunday Roasts and dinner parties, to BBQ's and seasonal game and poultry for Christmas and Easter holidays.

Locally Sourced Produce

Organic Beef comes straight from our own herd at Taverner's farm. Grazing on the finest Devon pastures, the beef is then hung for one week to ensure the best taste and tenderness.

Organic Lamb comes from a neighbouring farm from just over the hill and is hung for two weeks to produce the best taste.

Chicken (Free Range & Barn Raised) is locally sourced from Crediton farmed by Pete and Sue Coleman at Merrifield Farm.

Both free range chicken and barn raised (in spacious straw barns) are free from genetically modified ingredients, additives, antibiotics or growth promoters. The free range chickens are reared in small flocks to reduce stress, increase freedom and make for a better tasting chicken raised in a natural environment.

Game Meat is usually stocked in season and includes pheasant, partridge and rabbit. If you have a special request, please ask your butcher.

Pork. From green back bacon to dry cured bacon and our own home made sausages, all our pork is locally sourced.
